WHERE YOU’VE BEEN FOR THE LAST FIFTEEN YEARS AND WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED

Bravo! There were doubtless more moments than you care to look back upon, when you were sure you were done for, finished, caput – times when you felt weakened and exhausted. The odd part about it is, nobody saw it. On the contrary, many people watched what you were doing with awe and respect, ascribing to you almost supernatural powers. They admired your pluckiness and marveled at your endurance and recuperative abilities. They saw you fall off the horse, get up, remount, smile and wave to the crowd as you rode off into your typical sunset.

Who would have guessed that you were aching and sore? Much of your bravado comes from plain old Sagittarian denial. It does bug those who lack your capacity to paint on the clown face, giggle on about nothing when you are about to collapse and fall apart. Of course, that is the whole secret. Because you have such a positive attitude, you get through traumas that would crush other people. For you life is one big opportunity for learning, and even in your darkest moments, there is always that flickering candle in the distance, a light Sadges are forever seeking.

Another reason people have come to respect you: You have turned off to everybody. Not completely, of course, you would never totally shut people out, but a wall has been constructed between you and every other human being – mate, parents, bosses, and kids included. Ironically, it is this invisible barrier that has made you more attractive and desirable to all those who took you for granted and took advantage of your sloppy boundaries and generous nature. It is strange, isn’t it, once you decide that you are not afraid to be alone, all the old fears of being abandoned seem silly and childish.

And it happened to you. Slowly, gradually, like astronauts who could see the sun shrinking to a tiny ball from their spaceship window as they fled into the unknown, you have moved to a new state of courage, equipped with the ability to be alone and not be lonely. You have just about completed a once-in-a-lifetime passage, If you have been honorable in your dealings and have not abused your position and power, 2008 will be your great opportunity to exercise your well earned authority and the autonomy you have achieved. Key word of that sentence: IF.

WEALTH. Every Sagittarian likes to be seen as prosperous and not thought of as cheap or stingy. In fact, you despise niggling pettiness. Even billionaires, however, worry about the price of bananas. Some of the Sadges can be so irresponsible about paying bills, the phone has to get cut off before they’ll cough up and write the check. The fundamental principles of Sagittarius, however, are generosity and prosperity. Why, then, should there be a problem with money? If the Universe is a cornucopia of abundance, endlessly producing goodies for all, why have you now begun to clutch, panic and freak out? You always appear cool about it, and yet you seem to be getting nervous about money.

Here’s the deal now: Everything costs money if you want to maintain a decent life style, a filthy rich one or one like the rest of us lead. Everything costs money and the price of living is always rising. The years ahead will ask you to be more conscious of what’s in your piggy bank, and how the society around you hits you directly and affects your value. Stabilizing your income, then, and managing your assets properly will be the key to prosperity. Clutching, panicking and freaking out will neither protect your wealth nor it keep the wolf away from huffing and puffing at the door of your sweet, little cottage, the foundations of which have already been deeply shaken.

So protecting your current assets and building on them will become the primary directives of the coming years. How? For one thing, order. Keep good books, even if it means boring paper work and a blizzard of receipts and stubs. Budgets will be key, no matter how you abhor them. Budgets are for rich people, too, you know. This is a new period when you can bring dreams into reality. Manifestation in material terms will require a special kind of magic that blends your imagination, right thinking, patience, determination and organization. A preoccupation with what you have and what you do NOT have can be unsettling and unnerving, but the ability to be sensitive to the ebbs and flows of markets (as well as you your own marketability and popularity) will take you on the most exciting fiscal ride of your life. As usual you will find ways to enjoy it.
